As an Instructional Designer, you'll play a critical role in improving the effectiveness of learning experiences within our sales organization. You will create and achieve impactful learning outcomes through a process of analysis, design, development, delivery, and assessment. You will be responsible for producing learner-centered instructional content, courses, curriculum, and environments. You'll collaborate with domain experts, applying learning science and design best practices to provide learners an inclusive and industry-leading experience. Your priority is to create and achieve desired learning outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to solve business challenges with a holistic learning solution.
This role is part of the Sales Operations team and reports to the Manager of Knowledge Management. When executed well, this role will improve learner knowledge retention and skill development, reduce the frequency of sales staff questions, and improve self-directed learning. To be successful in this role, you'll have a strong sense of user empathy with a focus on ease of use, an understanding of how adults learn, exceptional attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders of all tenure and experience levels.
Responsibilities at a glance:
  • In this role you will be responsible for learning experiences, instructional design, curriculum development, training content, producing media, and collecting feedback.
  • You will design, develop, and publish engaging course content and knowledge assessments for instructor-led or self-access, online, virtual, and blended modalities.
  • You will partner with learners, domain experts, and stakeholders to identify learning needs and write learning objectives.
  • You will manage and maintain courses, curriculum, and users within a learning management system.
  • You will analyze business problems to evaluate the potential impact of learning experiences as a solution.
  • You will apply current instructional design best practices to achieve optimal learning outcomes.
  • You will use available data to evaluate the program results and continuously improve them.
  • You will drive overall quality, integrity, organization, and execution of learning designs to specified quality criteria and business outcomes.
Knowledge and Skill requirements:
  • 3 years of learning design and program/project management experience
  • Experience working cross functionally with domain experts, stakeholders, tech and non-tech teams.
  • Firm grasp of learner-centered design, knowledge of advanced instructional design techniques, and adult learning theory
  • Experience with course creation tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate, and Learning Management Systems such as TalentLMS.
  • Understanding of website design and accessibility best practice
  • Skilled in using multiple modalities of learning experiences which can be applied to solve business problems.
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to facilitate discussions to set expectations and ensure appropriate involvement.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to write effective copy, instructional text, and audio/video scripts.
